Science fiction news and information site Giant Freaking Robot rates our (Sharon Lee and Steve Miller) Liaden Universe novels as modern masterpieces of SF along with works by Stephen King, Orson Scott Card, Michael Crichton, Stephen Baxter, Vernor Vinge, William Gibson, and David Weber. Whoa! Now the sigh .... wait for it. Sigh, of all of these, guess who has yet to have a NYT bestseller despite hitting most of the SF bestseller lists? Right Sharon Lee and Steve Miller. http://www.giantfreakinrobot.com/in-print/10-modern-mustread-scifi-masterpieces.html ...

Please share this news with your favorite SF and ebook readers, and let them all know our work is available in ebooks as well as paper. With Christmas looking like an ereader bonanza this year, *do* send them off to http://pinbeambooks.com where they can choose from lots of stories and have a choice of vendors, too. This would be a useful time for lee & Miller to become the next big thing ... just in time for Hugo thoughts!

The sound you are about to hear is the sound of millions.... well thousands .. .well... hundreds .... maybe tens of tens .... or maybe ten, anyway, a few ... or a couple ... people helping get the word out about a couple of books near and dear to my heart.  And,. we'll test a theory that soomeone has that mere page views are sufficient to raise a book's ranking at amazon.

So what I'm asking you to do is to go to amazon.com with your favorite browser, and -- under books -- type in the words _Carousel Tides_  ...
and then look at the resulting pages, and select the one most appropriate to Sharon Lee.  The book in question is due out in November and can be ordered now.

That's all -- go look!  I note that as I send this the ranking of Carousel Tides is at Amazon Bestsellers Rank: #62,090 in Books  and the other info is that it is:
#4 in  Books > Science Fiction & Fantasy > Authors, A-Z > ( L ) > Lee, Sharon
#44 in  Books > Comics & Graphic Novels > Manga > Science Fiction
#88 in  Books > Comics & Graphic Novels > Manga > Fantasy

So (while wondering WTF about the graphic novels stuff) if you go look (and really, you can order one if you're in the mood, we won't mind!) let's see where the book ends up ... in say 12 hours and 24.  IIRC it was ranked 167,000 and change  a couple days ago, but we want to see if casual interest is enough to trigger amazon-splurge.

Thanks.

Oh yeah, as a sort of control, you can also look for Korval's Game   ... which is due out next May sometime, and which ranked at Amazon Bestsellers Rank: #478,434 when I posted this.

really, thanks....
