kinzel: (Second Life)
Not going in to the SRM office today, sticking close to home.

OK -- anyone out there need/want some Claritin and/or generic equivalent? We've got some here we're removing from the house since we *both* get jitters and moody when we take it. Today is a pretty bad allergy day and the idea was to hit it early, as a preventative strike ... but geesh. Me, I'm not having a good track record with these things.

Elsewise today, Theo and I are talking. Not getting a lot of these final patches done quickly, but talking, so Saltation moves on -- fuzzy allergy fighting brain doesn't help.

The neighbors across the street are remodeling their house and adding a garage. Can you say noise and traffic in the country? makes taking that contemplative morning walk even iffier -- construction noise *and* turkey season ... maybe i stay in and talk with the cats.

Oh yeah, I forgot -- here's that link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwZcJheRqBA ... which is the link to the youtube final installment of the Buzzy Multimedia interview .... which ought to be looking tubelike beneath here ...

Still working on Balticon .. .sigh; so everyone seems to be having travel doubts. Me, if they'll tell me I can have a table in the dealer's room, I'll be there. Without the table I probably can't afford the weekend. Gah! on the checks that are in the mail.

OH right, if you visit our SRM Piblisher shop on Publishing Island in Second Life you can get a note card with the youtube links on it... thanks gang!

Final note on the day ... I think we started waking up with the cats around 5 AM today ... you see, the cats use the sunlight as a measure of starting the day and this time of the year .. it gets sunny here early. Two things going on: one is that we are fairly far north, and the other is that we're in a spot that should actually be in the timezone to our right. Long days in the summer, yessir!

Elsewise, Saltation has my attention today until time for the haircut, and then later again.

Finches at the finch feeder today. Imagine.

....

today is going to be a hard day to stay in: sky is clear blue, a nice breeze -- just about enough to set the wind chimes to singing -- and we're looking for temps in the upper 60s. Maybe I'll get out and do some cat and bird food shopping before I come back to get Theo into another jam -- one you haven't seen yet.

Meanwhile, if you'd like to have us to sign a copy of Double Vision for you ... you can help make that happen by ordering today ... and if you *do* order today you'll help me decide which of the hotels we'll be in at Worldcon since I've been putting that decision off. Double Vision info is here:

To start with -- Topic One on the week

a link that reaches the same interview pictured below:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-K42R-Tzof0

as previously mentioned, feel free to share these with friends and fans and the world at large.

Topic Two

I figure that (over time) we've signed close to 100,000 objects with our names on them -- books, chapbooks, bookmarks, postcards, shirts and t-shirts, audio-books, e-book samplers, mugs, convention programs, bar coasters, tote bags, manuscript and typescripts, and, and... and, a Pepsi can. We've signed these things at conventions in several countries and numerous states, and at libraries large and small, bookstores, our house in Maine, on trains, at our former rented townhouse in Maryland, restaurants, hotel bars, and at book talks to writing classes, and ... in a parking lot of a mall in New Hampshire during a cat exchange.

So,we're not against autographs, OK? Saying that, let me tell you that it is best for us if we have warning, especially if you would like books signed in your absence. I mention this because we regard it as really, really bad form for people to send us their treasured objects without warning, and without regard to what else we may be doing. Understand that we could be on the road for several weeks (it does happen) and your package might be returned without us seeing it. Consider that the address you have might be for an out-dated Post Office box ... and that, since you saved money by sending the treasures Media Mail, we'd have to pay postage just to find out what it is -- or we'd need to refuse it.

Please, email us if you think you want to do this -- and I'll tell you plainly, we have declined to do this in past because of scheduling and other issues. Do not assume it'll be OK, and don't just mail away. Please. Thank you.

Topic Three

we have seen the future ... at least an image of a book cover due out later -- and we hope to be able to show it off here RSN ... in fact, you can see a low rez version now. The book cover in question is for the upcoming German edition of Plan B, whats got itself a new name. You can follow this link to see it ...

Topic Four

It is a mizzily gray day. I ought not be tempted away from the computer for some time, so I'll say hello to Theo and Win Ton for you.
