The sound you are about to hear is the sound of millions.... well thousands .. .well... hundreds .... maybe tens of tens .... or maybe ten, anyway, a few ... or a couple ... people helping get the word out about a couple of books near and dear to my heart.  And,. we'll test a theory that soomeone has that mere page views are sufficient to raise a book's ranking at amazon.

So what I'm asking you to do is to go to amazon.com with your favorite browser, and -- under books -- type in the words _Carousel Tides_  ...
and then look at the resulting pages, and select the one most appropriate to Sharon Lee.  The book in question is due out in November and can be ordered now.

That's all -- go look!  I note that as I send this the ranking of Carousel Tides is at Amazon Bestsellers Rank: #62,090 in Books  and the other info is that it is:
#4 in  Books > Science Fiction & Fantasy > Authors, A-Z > ( L ) > Lee, Sharon
#44 in  Books > Comics & Graphic Novels > Manga > Science Fiction
#88 in  Books > Comics & Graphic Novels > Manga > Fantasy

So (while wondering WTF about the graphic novels stuff) if you go look (and really, you can order one if you're in the mood, we won't mind!) let's see where the book ends up ... in say 12 hours and 24.  IIRC it was ranked 167,000 and change  a couple days ago, but we want to see if casual interest is enough to trigger amazon-splurge.

Thanks.

Oh yeah, as a sort of control, you can also look for Korval's Game   ... which is due out next May sometime, and which ranked at Amazon Bestsellers Rank: #478,434 when I posted this.

really, thanks....

Yesterday the lily count was three, today it is seven.  I'm late reporting yesterday becasue we were out early on a book-flogging trip to the coast and thus the flowers weren't open yet.  We signed books and gave away copies of our custom rendition of a Carousel Tides chapbook to push Sharon's November release from Baen. Order today!

Yes, today is my birthday, and I thank you all here and elsewhere for snailmail cards and email and blog postings ... and no, I do not EVER open ecards, so please don't send any, or anymore if you already sent one of the one's that have been nuked by the filters already.

So we had several delicious meals yesterday, running the two days into one for many purposes, and today we'll hit the movies to see Sorcerer's Apprentice.  Around the edges of things I've been packing -- books, socks, manuscripts I've read for the writing workshop, and pieces fo electronic gear. I leave Monday for a leisurely drive...  Is anyone going to NASFIC who might be willing to help me figure out the video camera?

Anyhow, off to the day -- thanks for reading!
