At last report it is still possible to take advantage of the Give One, Get One OLPC project. Give a child a laptop and get one for yourself. SRM Publisher is watching the mailbox for ours .... and if this is 2007 you can still probably get yours at:

.... Hurry, act today! ... Seriously. This is not merely a chance to fiddle with neato technology, but a chance to help find the genius that is in children around the world before they lose it. I can't tell you what will happen with the one SRM is giving away, but it will change a life, and build community.

...also, if you *do* have one or order one in time, and will be coming to Boskone, please let us know -- we'll try to bring ours, as well as the eee PC, so we can have a smallscale computer brunch or something.... so we can build community here, too.
