an ordinary mud-time warning for Maine after a strange winter:
floodwatch on the Kennebec River... caused by an ice jam.

Yeah, I had been jesting... A few days ago, I had called my mom, who lives in Quebec City and she was telling me how it had been snowing again and again and again over there, so I figured it hadn't been that different where you live. All this reminds me how little I miss snow. Pretty to look at, but... My favorite (not) part of winter was using our mini-snowblower to clean up our big yard and, just as I was finally done, the city's plow would come by and shove one hundred pound of the stuff back into our yard. Grumblegrumble...
