I didn't check the rest of the flowers due to the arrival of the lawn-mowing crew, but a quick peek shows two (2) deep red flowers on the day, which is otherwise, gray/grey with the feel of impending rain.
Today: working on html stuff, making behind the scenes travel arrangements for DragonCon, looking at pictures of cats, and need to print some fliers to take to the con. Anyone know of a good dim sum place within taxiable distance of the con hotels?
More later, I do think.

Re: Hotel
2005-08-20 14:40 (UTC)We know where we're staying for the con itself, and have reservations I made thorugh our hotel card -- but the trip down and back were what I was working on since I'm not going to try driving 1358.6 miles non-stop... and I was also trying to find a place to eat Thursday night.

2005-08-21 19:26 (UTC)Oh, wait--there's one more that might not be an arm and a leg for the taxi. Hong Kong Harbour on Cheshire Bridge Road has dim sum every day until 3 pm. Haven't tried it (though it's not that far from where I live), but it was recommended by someone whose opinions I trust. Still not close to downtown, but it's better than Chamblee.
I also asked about downtown restaurants from the DragonCon veterans at two fannish events yesterday: the Atlanta SF Society meeting (little tiny SF club), and the GaFIA monthly housefilk. For Italian, the only option that came up was Azio's (warning, obnoxious Web site with obligatory music). It's in Peachtree Center, so very close to the Hyatt Regency. No one had actually *been* there, you understand... I also got a recommendation for Hsu's Gourmet if you're interested in Chinese. And there's also a pricier pan-Asian spot from the same people: Pacific Rim Bistro, which I actually *have* eaten at--very good, but definitely pricey. One breakfast recommendation was a Mexican place in the food court in Peachtree Center--they will do egg dishes with or without the Mexican accompaniments for $3-4. I also spot an Atlanta Bread Co. location at 231 Peachtree St.--that's also probably in the Peachtree Center food court or close. The Hyatt is at 265 P'tree St.
