Small town? You may live in a small town if, as you drive to the post office and grocery store...
you see one of the old cars you sold in the last few years being used as a taxi, the used truck painted bright yellow and sporting a NASCAR driver's number in the rear window... and another of your old cars
sitting forlornly in a side drive, being used for storage...

Maine, the way life should be, ayuh...

Works even in the so-called Big City, Maine style. We used to see Wife's '69 Valiant around town, after giving up on it when the frame cross-member rusted through and broke as she was coming out of the Broadway Shopping Center....

Northern Indiana, too. My parents would drive a car ten years easy, then sell it--at least until we were old enough to drive. We'd see our old turquoise station wagon with the fake wood panels driving around town for years afterward....
