Folks in Australia are reading Theo's adventure in Ghost Ship:
http://createsend.com/t/r-9650A18B8FBF237A hey, that's another bookstore bestseller list Top Ten for us!
....and I posted the day lily picture to let people know what it is I'm talking about when I do the day lily count. Ours are not the usual trumpet orange, but if they're a well-known style, or named breed, I can't tell you.
A reminder, despite notes you may get from the big river and other online bookstores, Ghost Ship *is so* available electronically -- go to http://www.webscription.net/p-1413-ghost-ship.aspx and if you look around you may find a good deal with the month's Webscription at: http://www.webscription.net/p-1412-w201108-august-2011-webscription.aspx . Do look around -- Baen and webscriptions have a lot of our work electronically.
Also, our short story "Intelligent Design" is still available for free at http://baen.com/ -- on the front page, through August 14, IIRC.
Oh, and you electronic readers -- if you go to Splinter Universe (you do that regularly, right? www.splinteruniverse.com )you'll find a 1/2 price Smashwords coupon good the for the story that's a prequel to Kin Ties. Kin Ties is the Liaden story that'll be posted on Splinter Universe just before we leave for WorldCon. Smashwords is selling the entire Lee & Miller output from Pinbeam Books -- bet you knew that, though.

2011-08-08 14:57 (UTC)Also: "Theo's Adventures in Ghost Ship" sounds like "Hergé's Adventures of Tintin", for those who remember the animated series. An animated series of the Liaden saga might be good (I'd nominate the folks who did the CGI Captain Scarlet, or the Dan Dare animations)...

2011-08-09 04:23 (UTC)Also- I have just this evening finished my e-copy of Ghost Ship and I am, as ever, awed. I've been rereading all of the books and keep turning to whoever is near me and saying, "I love these books so much." Your stories are a very great adventure and never disappoint.
Have a perfectly wonderful time at WorldCon!

2011-08-09 10:56 (UTC)As to "Intelligent Design", although I gather Baen will fairly soon make it available as part of a free ebook they're building of the Baen front page stories, so it is not inappropriate to make a copy for your personal use. Enjoy!
