Hi gang!

The authors have in hand, shipped directly from the printers, our author copies of The Agent Gambit   (insert earth shaking three cheers here!)

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1439134073/blookangarue/107-2494529-4543737 ;

The book is new, but the two novels comprising it -- Agent of Change and Carpe Diem -- were the start of the Agent of Change sequence that introduced Liaden matters to readers worldwide. The link above is one that links directly to Sharon's own Bloo Kangarue account for those who ask how the can "best" support us when they buy our books.

Also, Theo has been busy this year, with her story-so-far out in our Fledgling in mass market and in hardcover with her latest, Saltation and now... Guess what? Saltation has made the bigtime in nominations for Best Science Fiction at Goodreads ....

Vote for this book!

Do let your friends know they can help support Theo in the worthy effort to have her very own story named Science Fiction Book of the Year!

As an aside, we're still looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones at Renovation ( http://renovationsf.org/ ) ... which is 250 days away as i wrote and probably less than that as you read. We're also looking into other summer/fall event possibilities -- let's all watch for what develops!

Yay + Question

Yay on awards nomination, Yay on new-old book!

My question is - I thought Val Con had dark hair? Why does Agent
Gambit show him with almost white hair? I thought that was Shan's
hair color. Even Dragon Variation shows him (I think it's Val Con?)
with darker hair.

Re your question: some things man (and woman) is not meant to know. In other words, I haven't see that clue float by yet.

I think it's the lighting. He's being back-lighted by those windows behind him, which gives his hair an apparent corona effect that appears very light, but the hair on his forehead (still in the ambient light, but without that strong backlight) is dark. So it's an optical illusion, not his real hair color?

How's that for an explanation?

Good one!

I've noticed many covers have little in common with the contents in specific. They just seem designed to catch the eye a have only the vaguest connection to the details of the book. Some are otherwise of course. Ghost Ship comes to mind.

You and Sharon, Lois and Patricia (Briggs) got all of my votes, to include a few write-ins (cover art = Mouse and Dragon, et al)

T'was fun.
