On the overnight -- 7 inches or so of snow, which is OK by me.

Today, some writing ,some writing business stuff -- including prep for tomorrow's visit with a nearby Junior High School Media Center program ... this may be the first time that Sharon and I have spoken to a group of 7th and 8th graders, so it'll be different for all of us, I'm sure.

Kids can be either very enthusiastic or dead bored. Often in rapid sequence.

One of the things that will affect their attitude is if somebody MADE them read your books.

Not that I don't think that they should be reading them. I do. It is just that requiring kids to read a book can squeeze all the fun out of it.

The thing is that the kids meet and talk with us, and *then* they each get a copy of the book, which we'll sign for them -- a talk and booksigning. We'll have around 25 of them, and they'll all be present voluntarily (or get-out-of-regular-class-tarily) ... so we're lookign forward to it.

Good luck! I remember myself at that age, but not everyone is a book geek by birth.
