Or is that the consequences of unanticipated laws?

And the question is, if kids shouldn't see adults drink, how can they go to a football game?

Stupid legislature tricks, ayuh.

There's a reason why folks refer to Augusta as "malfunction junction" . . .

At first glance it seems kids can't see adults drink for free but if they pay for it then that is ok.

I think the magic idea was to keep the kidies from seeing people sipping from cups so that they wouldn't randomly sip from grownups' cups at parties.
Maybe.

How often do people stand around in grocery store drinking hard liquor? If the intent was to prevent this, why not prohibit drinking in grocery stores? Blue laws are just anoyher way for Mrs. Grundy to stick her nose in other people's business.

You have to love the little jobsworths at the Liquor Board who love the idea of enforcing this law when the legislator who sponsored it plainly says he intends to amend it to be less fcuked up ASAP.

I suspect the legislature also cut the Liquor Enforcement budget. They cut everything else in sight, and a few things that weren't.

You shouldn't try to legislate common sense.

and God so loved the world that he sent his only Son, Instead of a Committee!

Don't your lawmakers have anything better to do with their time?

Y'a know, most people learn that if you're rushing and it isn't quite ready yet, you hold off and wait until it is ready. Measure twice, cut once and similar aphorisms. Was there really a good reason to rush this and get it wrong?
