First, a report in the day lily population, which in this corner of the state pops up quite late....

but no, none in our yard yet.  A preliminary count looks to show 55 or 60 buds. I do hope they won't
all show up on the day after we leave for Worldcon...

meanwhile ...

Sharon's Barnburner and Gunshy  have been on sale 6 or 7 years and I'm wondering if anyone has comments on the idea of us making up an omnibus of the. In particular, those of you who read mystery regularly, I guess. The thing is that the electronic file for Barnburner was lost at the printers -- one made by shooting paper pages -- and if we need to redo it all it may just be worth resetting both into a single volume, with typoes fixed and the like... Anyone?

We've had a few blooms on our side-yard day lilies, with many many more on my bike routes.

Not for me, thanks.

You're talking about paper versions, right? Just yesterday I was looking at the e-versions over at Fictionwise.com. Personally, I'm trying to go paperless with as much of my reading as possible.

For questions like this, which is better: no response which implies non-interest, or a response stating non-interest, this at least shows that we are paying attention?

We've got a bunch right now, and have had at least some for ... four weeks now? I've been trying to get pictures of all the various kinds we've got - I'll have to get them up on the web sometime.

Oh, yeah - you know this, but if you do do an omnibus, I'll buy a copy.

I've given copies to friends who like mysteries, so omnibus edition would be good. I'd buy.

Omnibus?

Yes!

Especially if there's any chance of a third visit to Wimsy.

Hint!

:)

The icon represents my happy self, thinking about the Omnibus, the possibility of more of the same, and the day lilly population.

Here in NY/LI the many varieties of lillies seem to go on forever. Last time I was home to Maine, mine were (and had been for a while) still blooming. Mine seem to come much earlier than yours. This seems odd to me, given that we are not so far apart, geographically speaking.

I think the day lily timing has been affected by when we planted our first batch ... they were leftovers at the Agway, and got planted VERY late in the season. Ever since, the bloom late.

Nah, it's that environmental condition in your backyard. Just don't tell anyone that your daylilies glow in the dark, they'll want pictures.

I vote for an omnibus of all three stories. After all, isn't the last book in the trilogy just beggin' to be written?

alas ... a 3 book omnibus would require me to wait to reprint the first two. Probably for another couple years, if any of our proposals are accepted ...

I'd buy an omnibus if I hadn't bought both already (or if I want to give them out as a present).

I'd buy an omnibus of them. In fact I'd probably by several as gifts.

I'll probably buy an electronic version, if I can ever figure out how to convert things for my kindle... but if'd I cain't, I'll go the old fashioned way.

Hum? Just happened to think -- there's some kind of electronic file for Barnburner at Fictionwise? Would starting with that make it any easier?

Ah. We have electronic files. What was lost was the layout electronic file, with all the codes and grids and stuff that make it something a computerized press can read and print.

Ah. I know some of the names -- QuarkXPress, Adobe Pagemaker, InDesign, Framemaker -- but have never worked with them. I know enough to know that this is a serious step up.

Yes please

"somebody" borrowed my paper copy of barnburner and it hasn't wandered back in yet... so yes, I would like an omnibus, and yes, where is the third volume of that trilogy, or better yet (with a nod to Douglas Adams...) the fourth?

omnibus

why not? I think I have at least two copies of everything else. Signed copies are especially attractive.

Yes, please, an omnibus would be most welcome. I can make a spot for it in my library...there are several stacks with a bit of room on top.
