Why did the turkeys cross the road after the dusting of snow?
Ah, well, that's because the apple tree winterfall was on the other side.
It snowed last night, just a little, and the turkeys took the outside route (down the middle unkept ground between our house and our neighbor's house) and not the the inside route (where they pick up odds and ends of seeds from our bird feeders -- a trick they often reserve for the late winter) ... and they marched over to the apple tree. At first I saw three, but the other 4 had waited out a car .. so now there are seven.
So the answer to why did the turkey's cross the road? Breakfast.
Why id the author cross the kitchen? To get more coffee, of course. Oh, and also breakfast, which is heating now. I'm having somethiing simple -- oatmeal with cinnamon and maple syrup.
