Last night, after we all should have been long asleep, there was a sudden screeching and scrittering right out front, startling the household. While I rushed about making sure we'd not left any of the cats outside.... came a vast odor. Scrabble walked the perimeter inside, checking all the windows and doors for security. Mozart sat stock still, eyes alert....

So: was the skunk fighting a cat? A coyote? Arguing with a chipmunk over a hoard of birdseed?

The outside of the front of the house still stinks. There a bare lingering scent inside. There are no findable carcasses out front.

Speaking of ebay, did the pins all get mailed out? I think I was the first one to get one of the "buy it now" pins but it hasn't come yet. I'm just wondering if I should be bugging my housemates to find out what they did with the package.

The first batch are all out, suffering from a slight case of "but I thought you did it", alas. My copy of the in-house records is stamped July 18; somewhere around here should be the tracking numbers but Rolanni is sleeping off this morning's medical stuff and isn't available for consultation at the moment.

Cool - don't worry about looking for the tracking numbers, I'll ping you again if I haven't gotten it in a week or so.

from Montreal

You would think living in a major urban sprawl like Montreal in Canada wouldn't have too many skunk incidences. You would be wrong. I get regular whiffs of skunk discharges during the night. Reason is all the railroad/commuter train right of ways thats crisscross the Montreal Island. I live about 250 meters from a rail line, and the stupid skunks release their ire on the oncoming trains sounding their horn going thru level crossings. There's nothing quite like getting vomit inducing gas attack when you are sleeping or getting off the bus. It's worse in the early winter, the skunk discharge lingers longer.

Hope that Rolanni is healing well, and that the "procedure' was successful.
