So, there ... a quiet news month, eh?

I mean, what with The Tomorrow Log practically a stealth issue from Meisha Merlin (wow -- in mass market from Lee & Miller in January, buy it where you buy fine books) and the Ace edition of Crystal Soldier on sale at amazon and elsewhere as of last week (buy it where you buy fine books)... sigh we haven't seen authors copies of either, yet, such being the mid-list writer's lament...

But now, news from Germany!

Due in May -- Eine Frage der Ehre, von Sharon Lee, Steve Miller, Ingrid Herrmann-Nytko (Übersetzer) with a neato cover seen here ....

Due in June -- a blue cover, for Der Agent und die Söldnerin, von Sharon Lee, Steve Miller, Ingrid Herrmann-Nytko (Übersetzer)
and it's a very spacey cover with the word LIADEN very bold indeed

and then due late in the year we see
Gestrandet auf Vandar, just coincidentally von Sharon Lee, Steve Miller, Ingrid Herrmann-Nytko (Übersetzer) ...

do tell your German friends to be on the look out. This, by the way, was our first look at the cover art -- thank you, alert reader!

Meanwhile, it's nearly time for me to get back to work on a chapter so Rolanni can have a whack at the part I'm doing a little later... and I need to figure out lunch... and meanwhile, Rolanni has been working on her MySpace account while I've been over in SL and visiting rec.art.sf.composition and rec.arts.sf.written this morning.

Do remember that Rolanni and I, in the guise of Kit and Elan, will be giving a talk next Sunday in Second Life, at the Second Life Library ...

I picked up the mmpb version of Tomorrow Log in the local B&N a few days ago. Surprised me, as I didn't even know Meisha Merlin -did- mmpb!

Haven't seen the Ace Crystal Soldier yet, alas.

Well ... we were glad to see it, but we haven't seen the author copies yet. Tomorrow Log is their very first mass market paperback ...

Hummmm....

I think the links are all to the yellow-orange book, or the blue book. Did you want a link for the third cover, zee purple book?

Or did I miss the one word link for that one? It's on the Amazon page as "other works by" but I'm not sure there is a link for it here.

Pretty snazzy covers, IMHO. I'd take them in a minute for my SF stuff. So, M-M is doing the MM of Tomorrow Log? Any hope of a sequel?

I think the covers are all there. I did have a run-on tag that I fixed, thanks, which made finding where cover number two started hard. And, as for the sequel to the Tomorrow Log, originally due out RSN, there's an indefinite delay, the kind of thing that happens sometimes in publishing.

This is surprising...I thought your books were the company's cash cow.

Sympathies.

This isn't he first time we've had things delayed a bit; problem with things going off schedule in publishing is getting them back in schedule at some point.

Right now Tor has told me that the only way to get into the fantasy lineup is for one of their writers to miss a deadline.

Links reversed

The links for "Gestrandet auf Vandar" and "Der Agent und die Söldnerin" have gotten themselves confused (unless obviously they've been fixed by the time anybody reads this ;-).

Just as a sanity check, can I confirm: "Eine Frage der Ehre"="Conflict of Honors", "Der Agent und die Söldnerin"="Agent of Change", "Gestrandet auf Vandar"="Carpe Diem", right?

Would I be very wrong to infer from the above that signed copies of "Crystal Soldier" might be available from SRM in the near-ish future?

I love those covers...they make it really easy to tell that the books are connected.

I also like the way they realized that using Liaden in a prominent way *would* let people know the books are related. If only Del Rey had understood that advantage some years back... sigh. I'll be pleased to have those books on our shelves!
