According to
this article a federal judge has declared that the "navigable waters" statutes are ... wrong and that there is no right for the average person to go boating on a river without the permission of the property owners... ... and so I say, does anyone out here know if this is true? Has snopes got this yet?

We just had a case where one of our tribes was in the final phases of putting land into trust--and some of the land straddles the Verde River, which the state says is under its jurisdiction even though nobody has attempted to take a boat upstream since they put in two dams!! Silly bureaucrats.
