Hi gang,
as mentioned previously, and elsewhere: Baen Books, our primary paper publisher these days, each month features a free science fiction story or essay. This month, in celebration of our forthcoming novel Ghost Ship, they asked us for a background story for our Liaden Universe® series -- which is here: http://www.baen.com/IntelligentDesign.asp ... since several people asked about they're a good publisher; we get well paid for this "freebie."
