If you like the Long Flat blend, you might want to try Penfolds Bin 2 Shiraz/Mourvedre. It's a bit more expensive (but not much), and a big leap up in quality. Some genius blender at Penfolds has figured out how to use Mourvedre, which has a fairly 'earthy' flavor palate, to mimic the effects of aging on a good shiraz. The result tastes like a mature pricey shiraz -- but still with fabulous fruit.
