Yes, but it's the purity of the thing. Once MM started republishing them, I got everyone in the family to pony up for the entire series in hardback. I can visit any of them and see The Liaden Shelf (dum da da!) and maybe pull one down to browse during the slow morning hours. So Mom needs to have (replace?) the missing volume as well as fill in with the new ones.
