Well, yeah. OpenOffice.

Understand that the last one was written in Rough Draft, and the one before that in Word Perfect.

In fact I don't think I've written any complete fiction in a MS product -- we started out with WordStar for CP/M, moved over to WordStar for DOS, then moved on to WordPerfect.

Open Office looks like it does the job, and I wrote portions of I Dare in... I think ... Star Office. Some portions of a couple books were also written in various text edtiors because I was using them for the computer BBS stuff i was doing and so they became comfortable for me.

In any case, I', using OpenOffice.org 1.1 which I have upstairs on the Windows machine and downstairs on the Linux machine; also have it on at least one of the laptops.
