Hah .. thought I'd actually got something posted yesterday; today I get my restored draft... so you ought to know that Saltation did get up on time yesterday.
but, they are still calling for a fair amount of snow -- up to a foot round these parts -- which, given the the temps, might mean heavy wet stuff. Ugh... Meanwhile, I'm due to pick some printing up come Wednesday but the "discussion" among the weatherfolk seems to lean toward it snowing pretty good through the afternoon. Guess we'll have to punt.
Chess --- I was 2 for 3 last night, with 1 win on time in a winning position and 1 rather simple mate that my opponent overlooked due to a series of what appeared to be minor threats. He could have traded down one piece, which would have ended up giving me a pawn or two... but he missed the underlying threat. The loss... sigh, I deserved that; got a move out of order in the opening and trapped my own piece so I only got a pawn for it, then went down the exchange...and as my opponent didn't fall for the only resource I had left, which put me a rook and two pawns down as things were simplifying into an endgame. That one I resigned....
We have clouds now; latest weather I see is "slight chance of snow this morning...then a chance of snow this afternoon. Chance of snow 50 percent. Tonight: Snow in the evening...then snow and freezing rain after midnight. Snow may be heavy at times in the evening. Snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation near 100 percent. Wednesday -- Snow likely...possibly mixed with rain in the morning. Total accumulation of 6 to 12 inches."
Going to see what I can do today that requires running around so i won;t be playing in the snow tomorrow ... looks like the printing pick-up may have to wait until Friday.
