It's currently scheduled for hardcover in 2006; it may hit as an electronic edition late next year; timing of that could be affected by other in-the-works projects both announced (Sword of Orion) and yet-to-be-announced.
Plain text of our ebooks? Not in the near future, I think. Embiid has been buying the eBook rights and I expect they'll continue to do what they've been doing since they've been doing an excellent job.
