I:
Listened to one of the few AM stations we can get here for awhile this morning --
and oldies station with a playlist form the 40s 50s and 60s -- and discovered that my nifty shortwave/AM/FM doesn't seem to have the weather system stations pre-set. Couldn't find them at all, but I played with the radio, and that was fun...
I:
then walked a quick mile and a half in the basement, aided by Scrabble, who curled up in the pilot's chair since it wasn't being used.
I:
looked for the SLOF LJ, which I found; hope to get a chance to visit with the SLOFs at WorldCon... I don't expect to find any at PortConMaine this weekend, though it would be nice.
I:
have avoided political discussion, other than a few remarks to the cats, who (except for Mozart) had nothing to say about it. Mozart was a bit talky, but he gets that way sometimes.
I:
am looking for that icon idea I was playing with... and will see if it works to start.
I:
hope to get the morning schedule in gear, even with upcoming conventions and a working vacation coming up -- we have editors anticipating books, and the books won't happen if I don't do my part.
I:
looked at some of the incoming chapbook orders. Good thing there *are* incoming chapbook orders, since the check just in from the agent (once distributed to the tax account and the due-last-week account) is just about done. The good news is that the nonfiction chapbook I'm planning to publish in time WorldCon is coming along -- as is Bud Webster's chapbook on buying and selling used books -- so perhaps there'll be an uptick.

have decided we really ought to have a weather radio in house, especially since we're both now card-carrying weather spotters. I really dislike Radio Shack -- wonder if BestBuy has a deal on weather radios this week.

am really looking forward to the upcoming trip to the ocean. I discover we'll be in line for 4 consecutive nights of fireworks -- and that doesn't include the amateur fireworks on the beach after hours.

have to finish finding an order, so it's off to work we go.
