Cold evening and stuff

Quick note --
we're looking at windchill of minus 28F late tonight, I'm told, and the temp outside right now is about 6 degrees F...so it'll be right chill when we go out in the morning in the early hours. Looks like scheduled stuff may keep me away from the keyboard for a day or two, will check in when I can.

Do remember: we have a book called Crystal Dragon due out RSN and we like to hear from people when they hear when they see it in a store or when it arrives...

Oh yeah, spent a bit of the weekend fiddling around in Second Life, and a bit more writing. New stuff is on the move.

Has not arrived in San Francisco, at Borderlands yet. I had a customer asking for it today, though!

:)

I'll let you know when it shows.

Second Life

I'm pretending not to see the Second Life mention. I know someone else that plays. I don't need any more addictions. I play City of Heroes when I have time. That should be enough....... right?

Ah, well...

I've been playing with the 3-D worlds since real early in the vrml experiments; at one point I was running betas of a couple of them and...we even had a few Friends of Liad helping me figure out if we could have "live meetings" of the Friends every so often online ...and life got busy and my computers and dial up connection fell well behind the curve... well....

now we've got cable, I've mostly stopped doing official chess stuff (I was a USCF tournamant director, local club president, played on a championship team for the chess league...) so in theory there's some time... so I started back in. But there you go, just like me, in town for a month or two and thinking of sdtarting a business....

But hey, in the entrpreneurial spirit, if you're inclined and you do join, remember to mention Elan Neruda as your referral...hehe, since each referral helps fund expansdion...

Meanwhile, with Second Life offline for a few hours for a refrib, I've been thinking of starting a group/groups for the more constant book-oriented sf people out there. Maybe a bookseller group and a written-sf fan group... so if you do say I referred you it'll help cover the on-game costs...

always something going on, right? Like lunch, ready now.
