Put down that coffee

Really. Put down the coffee. Click on the URL below. It is a diatribe against a community many of the people who read here are familiar with.

Me, I hope never to meet the author of that idiocy.

I don't know how Ms. Rowat could have made that screed more offensive.

I'm guessing that she was actually trying to be as offensive as possible, probably to get a rise out of the viewship.

Either that or the lady has serious issues.

I kept wondering if was meant as a joke. I hope it was! But, for the most part, the intent seemed to be non-humorous.

Hmm - I think I'll grab the URL and point some Brits at it. See what they have to say.

Either she's being humorous or she is totally wacked out over this.

One of my favorite Brits answered - his opinion was 'diatribe dressed up as humor'.

He theorizes that she had to cover the last Glasgow Worldcon as Junior Staff Reporter, and hated it.

Someone else on the same list reports that the Interaction committee is aware of the article and is preparing an official response. Possibly with some help from the Glasgow hoteliers association and tourist board.

OMFG

Apparently I'm a man with a butt plug collection and tin foil fetish. After all, that's what all fans are, eh? Won't the hubby be surprised.

I'm guessing she has issues (ya think?) -- perhaps with a past partner?

Methinks she dost protest too much

I think that her scathing vituperative is a direct result of her secret shame. She's obviously a repressed fangirl. A closet Barbarella. She feels threatened that her own secret little fantasy world will be revealed if she so much as condescends to treat sf fans as feeliig human beings. Little does she know her secret is out....
