Geek stuff -- a true-life technical detective story

Is Sony really putting illegal software on your computer when you play a music CD? -- could they be violating both the spirit and the letter of various laws, domestic and international, against mal-ware and spy-ware, that is, against installing software without your permission that limits your ability to use your computer? Apparently this is more of a problem for MS users...

...but anyway, if you enjoy technical detective stories, take a look. Might even be able to sell a fictionalized version of this to an sf magazine... or stretch into a movie!

This is one more reason never to use a MS OS, I went looking for hidden files like those described on my Mac and found nothing under OS X 10.2 or Yellowdos Linux. As for a CD's w/DRM I won't buy them ever and do take pics of the item then email them both to the recond company, the Artist and the CEO of the store selling non Red Book crap.
