We have a theme

The theme this week is Saltation, apparently, what with the Theo-tweet going on at Baenbooks ... and now with the dreaded "Amazon can do it for you cheap" letter arriving according to several readers...

"Dear Amazon.com Customer,

As someone who has purchased or rated Partners in Necessity: Agent of Change / Conflict of Honors / Carpe Diem by Sharon Lee or other books in the ( L ) > Lee, Sharon category, you might like to know that Saltation will be released on April 13, 2010.  You can pre-order yours at ..."

And so there, it *is* getting to be time. Remember, if you need to convince someone about Saltation there's a great PW review on exhibit over at amazon.com ...

"Blazing into their 12th Liaden novel, Lee and Miller prove they can still deliver elegant variations on the theme in this coming-of-age story, a sequel to 2009's Fledgling. ..."

Saltation is  ... available to pre-order from your favorite Indie store, including Pandemonium, Uncle Hugo's, Childrens Bookcellar, Borderlands, and at Powell's, and at most Indiebound stores ... and it is...

here at Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Saltation-Sharon-Lee/dp/143913345X/ref=pd_bxgy_b_img_b   (it was ranked #37 in Space Ppera an hour or two ago but right now is at #31 in Space Opera) ...

and it is here at B&N  --  http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Saltation/Sharon-Lee/e/9781439133453/?itm=1&USRI=saltation    (where it was ranked 35,000 and change this morning)  ...

and it is here at Borders -- http://www.borders.com/online/store/TitleDetail?sku=143913345X

and it is here at Books-A-Million -- http://www.booksamillion.com/product/9781439133453?id=4699518490510

here it is at amazon in the UK: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Saltation-Sharon-Lee/dp/143913345X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1269952093&sr=8-1

and here at amazon in Germany they say "Amazon.de Verkaufsrang: Nr. 4.697 in Englische Bücher ... for
http://www.amazon.de/Saltation-Sharon-Lee/dp/143913345X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books-intl-de&qid=1269952245&sr=8-1

...and that's as far as my correspondents went -- thanks all, for the help -- has anyone seen it on sale in France, Spain, Japan, or elsewhere?

Another theme is rain. Yep -- rained all day yesterday, raining now, supposed to rain later, and of course we have flood watches. Me? With some luck the books that were *NOT* ready yesterday at the printer will be ready today -- that'd include The Cat's Job revision and two reprints of other chapbooks.

Now to tweet, and then call the printer...

I ordered it 8th September last year (from Amazon UK, who are estimating delivery April 21-22; since they were late with Fledgling I may be buying it from somewhere else as well, I ended up buying 3 copies of Fledgling as well as the signed one). And have Mouse and Dragon on order, and a whole load more new books being published this year through to About September.

Amazon just moved *up* the expected ship dates for my copies of Saltation and Mouse & Dragon.

[identity profile] kinzel.livejournal.com 2010-03-30 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Moved up? To when?

[identity profile] msmemory.livejournal.com 2010-03-30 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Saltation had been "expected arrival date" of 4/22, is now 4/15.
Mouse & Dragon had been 6/17, now 6/3.

Great ... in a day filled with deliveries sliding backward it is good to see some coming the other way!

Sorry, badly brain dead this weekend - when is the ebook release date for Saltation and for Mouse and Dragon from baen?

Because even, as now, if I can barely read right now - I will go get them!

[identity profile] cailleuch.livejournal.com 2010-03-31 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
I also got a similar notice of earlier arrival.

Saltation e-book?

Available now at http://www.webscription.net/p-1164-saltation.aspx

Mouse and Dragon is part of the June 2010 Webscription, along with The Dragon Variation (Local Custom, Scout's Progress, and Conflict of Honors in one wonder-filled volume :-) What that means is you can buy both of them along with five other books for $15 right now, and you can read about half of each one now. And you'll get 3/4th in April, then the whole thing about middle of May. Get the webscription bundle at:

http://www.webscription.net/p-1168-w201004-april-2010-webscription.aspx

Or you can wait until May, and buy just Mouse and Dragon at

http://www.webscription.net/p-1187-mouse-and-dragon.aspx

Hum. There's also an eArc of Mouse and Dragon available right now at

http://www.webscription.net/p-1243-mouse-and-dragon-arc.aspx

So -- lots of ways to get your digital fingers on those bits!

Thank you!

Have just purchased Saltation ebook. Currently too brain dead to be able to figure out HOW to buy the June webscription, sigh, maybe tomorrow.

And have now received an email from Amazon UK recommending 'Saltation' to me. Quite why they don't notice that I already have it on order from them...

Amazon Japan has gotten much more user-friendly to English speakers since I first ordered from even. They automatically offer to translate the page! Here's Saltation's page:

http://www.amazon.co.jp/Saltation-Sharon-Lee/dp/143913345X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=english-books&qid=1270055416&sr=8-1

¥ 2,758

with the Yen around 92 / dollar.
