Could be an underwater slide somewhere. It would have to be pretty localized if this is the only place affected. There's nothing else going on up or down the coast?

. . . it is darned cold here in Moscow. But the hotel left us a portable heater this time, so all is not lost. Tomorrow kitten watch or a trip to the zoo.
