Expect Rolanni to be away from the keyboard for several days.

She's recovering from this morning's surgery on her right ear. We weren't sure until late yesterday that she'd actually get today's surgical slot, but ti held up.

She's still a bit groggy and they've given her pain pills; but she reported before going for a nap that she's already hearing *much better* than she has for some years from that ear. Her surgeon was pleased when he spoke to me before she was out of the recovery room and assumes she'll be back more or less in gear by early next week, and maybe sooner.

Yay for excellent post-op news:) (I didn't realize there was surgery that could improve one's hearing. Maybe I should look into it...)

I gather not every hearing loss is operable; in this case the problem was effectively external to the eardrum. This does not return her hearing to the level of a 20 year old but does give her stereo hearing again, which she was very nearly lacking for the last several years.

Ah well, then. That's really wonderful for her! I don't have substantial hearing loss yet. Hopefully by the time I need hearing aids, science will have come up with something better:)

I hope you and Rolanni recover swiftly. I know surgery of any kind can be hard the family too.
Does you comment about her hearing in stereo again mean she has to listen to you again? :)
