Local news .. .with slideshow

Here the day was somewhere between quiet and too quiet, with a high density of things that were supposed to arrive not being seen. This is not good. I'd sleep much better with the missing items in house, or at least reported on.

In search of missing items I left early for the PO, just in case they went there, instead -- which meant Fledgling was posted before noon. Well, yes, it was posted and I changed the main page to show that. Since I need to rush out, I didn't have time to change the old page. Always check the index page!

But -- closer to town -- an adventure:
a very lucky dog, rescued from the river not far from here ... watch the slide show! our vet was the one who got to treat the pooch after the adventure...

That's quite some story. Thank you for sharing it.

That's our Cissy! Spit'n image, I promise! (Who, BTW, is aboslutley kookey enough to go chasing after the cat and end up in the river.) High on adventure, low on brains, is our Cissy.

good practice

on reading some of the comments posted to the news link, I have to agree. If the Waterville Police and Fire Departments take incidents like these as a matter of training, it is a VERY good deal. Glad the dog and the recuer are both fine; as is to be expected from the fine services in the city of Waterville.
