Plus or minus 11 degrees

It's pretty close right now to plus 11F and minus 11 C ... except when you factor in the wind it feels like (I'm told)... -15F
=========================
we're told:
this Afternoon
Partly sunny with blowing snow and a 40 percent chance of snow showers. Brisk with highs around 11. West winds 15 to 25 mph. Wind chill values as low as 15 below.
========================

As it happens we have snow and wind right now, with both of the wind chimes kicking up noise and the snow very pretty....

As soon as the clock strikes noon and I fidget with today's Fledgling chapter three installment I need to get in the car and dash... or drive slowly and reasonably... to Augusta to pick up the chapbooks we should have had in house 10 days ago. The printer is sorry... me too!

The Fledgling podcast may also be up today -- Sam Chupp and the Fireheart Foundry folks are working hard to keep up. If you understand diggs and duggs and such, some folks are digging podcast.. .I'm told every little bit helps. If you're in Second Life you can visit the SRM Publisher store location at the Friends of Liad island... and get the podcast right there!

Almost time to get on the road... more soon.

I'll trade you weather! Here in Michigan when I left the house this morning at 8 a.m. it was frigid -4f ( about -20f something with the wind chill) - brrrr. Right now it's a balmy 12f degrees.

It looks like when you loaded Chapter 3 you put the Chapter 2 place-holder file back up?

[identity profile] kinzel.livejournal.com 2007-02-05 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
It does? I'm not finding this myself, but if you can locate a page the placeholder file launches from I'd like to get it straight.

Is Chapter 3 supposed to be up? I'm not seeing it. All I see is a message that Chapter 3 has not been posted yet. Chapter 4 also says that Chapter 3 has not been posted yet.

The chapter has been up since noon Monday. Tell me what browser you're using, and who you ISP is. Have you ... cleared your cache?

I've got to say that Fledgling is shaping up nicely, though how you folks invent and then keep up with a vocabulary is One Of The Mysteries.

Oh, we just use real words. It's kind of like asking a cat what it's name is... you ask, and then you know.

That happens with dogs too. We should NEVER have called our latest after an old-time actor most famous for playing bad guys... Cagney... What were we thinking?

Podcast is up! :)

Great -- thanks a bunch!

I am actually kinda jealous. I am sitting here in 90+ heat, well, sweating. Love those Santa Ana winds.

Whoa, I'm sorry....

that would drive me right up the wall, I'm afraid! As it is, we see that downtown Waterville, some 8 or 10 miles from here has:
1 °F / -17 °C
Clear

and our robot thermometer broadcasts to us that it's facing -2F.

Driving today was kind of spectacular, with great wind-whipped tendrils of snow flying from troughs and peaks of roadside snow; in one spot I had to wait for the town plow to finishing clearnign a path -- although the snow we had the other day was all of 5 inches deep there were three foot drifts in the road... of course that's at the top of a hill and we can see to Sugarloaf ski-area dozens of miles away, so there were ltos of places for a forty mile an hour wind to pick up some extra snow...

I can't tell you how fabulous that sounds. The one good payoff for this weird hot winter day was tonight you could smell the desert perfume that comes off the Mojave on these off shore wind days. Nice.
