Voting machines have backdoors? Who has the key?

Well, for geeks and those concerned about ... ummm ... potential voting irregularities, this news about the apparent multiple
backdoors to some e-voting machines..made by Diebold.... Safety first, that's the new governement model...

Diebold saying they'll fix their machines leaves me as skeptical as those Philip Morris TV ads that tell us how concerned they are about people's health.

My personal favorite was the bit about questioning the programmer.

I like the idea that we shouldn't worry because the machines will remain in the hands of trusted officials. No politician is ever crooked, right?
