We've got gray. Gray (white-wing) doves. Gray (and brown) house sparrows. Oh, and grackles. We had reddish house finches a few days ago, and a cardinal couple. There's a blue jay down the street. But mostly... gray. Sigh...
My husband went through a baking phase. He's the kind that makes something once according to the recipe, then just throws cabinets open, grabs items at random, and magic happens. He made a very dark, very rich bread once, that had all sorts of wonderful flavor and depth. Unfortunately, one of the items he grabbed at random was cloves, and his hand slipped. That overwhelming flavor drowned out some of the more subtle spices. I must confess that there was alcohol involved...
Also unfortunately, probably also because of the pickled baker, there is no record of the ingredients, so we'll probably never see that particular bread again. Most art is ephemeral; this was just more ephemeral than most :o)
