Actually, yes, and I'd half-written a story about it years ago which I never finished .. but ought to ...proposing that train tracks sometimes generate their own dual current flow/magnetic field/pulse and that older vehicles in bad trim are so often victims because they are working with less than good flow/with bad wiring, etc...
I do note that people who stop to look both ways *while on the track* rather than before they cross it are statistically at risk compared to those who are actually underway when they cross...
