Have you ever considered that there might be some inherent property of railroad tracks that causes cars to stall while going across them? You hear so many stories of it happening, of people's cars choosing the one worst possible moment to stall. Maybe the trains are hungry for cars, and the tracks contain their version of paralytic venom.
