I can't help with gas prices near the border but we have been paying between $1 and $1.10 Can per litre for the regular blend (87) in the western end of Montreal over the last several weeks. That would be around $3.79 to $4.17 Can per gallon. It was a better deal at $3.05 US per gallon in New Hampshire and on Cape Cod earlier in July now that the US dollar is within sight of the Canadian dollar.
